Brooks’ work Object X.2 began as a test piece within a larger body of work and was later refined for exhibition. Originally exploring the components of installation art and their impact on audience immersion, Brooks’ practice evolved to investigate how the objects within a space themselves can become immersive. Using large scale inflatable forms to occupy and transform the environment, the work created a sensory experience that became unique to each viewer.

“Taking this work from the studio into the exhibition space was really something. Seeing how a fresh audience interacted with the bubble forms continued to strengthen and develop my research.”
